Jefferson County Republican Party Picnic 07/11/09

Here is a statement from Whas 11 online, and they also announced it on the Saturday July 11th 11pm news:

(WHAS11) – Two local republicans say they hope to challenge democratic Congressman John Yarmuth in the 2010 election.

That’s the word from the GOP’s annual family picnic Saturday where real estate broker Larry Hausman and nurse Marilyn Parker both announced they will form exploratory committees.

Larry gave an excellent speech at the picnic, interrupted several times by applause and ended with about 1/2 of the people there on their feet for the only standing ovation of the event.

Here is his personal introduction and part of his speech:
__________________________________________________

So now, If you’ll permit me, I’d like to tell you a little about myself:

I grew up in the Highlands, went to St. Agnes and St. X.
I graduated in 3 years from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in Finance and entered U of L Law School at the age of 20.
In the year I was at Law School I learned enough to know that I did not want to be a practicing attorney.

For a few years I worked for my aunt Thelma at Hausman Jeep, but had always dreamt of, and groomed myself to be, my own boss.

So in 1989 I collected my last paycheck and have been self employed for 20 years now.

In 2002 I married my wife Kathleen, and we live in the Highlands. Stand up Honey.

Today I specialize in high grade investment real estate, and am also an Investment Advisor Representative with series 7 and 66 stock broker licenses.

By investing in real estate, my clients create jobs. But their ability to Buy, Build and Sell has come to a halt,
due to the Obama administration’s tight control over banking.

And when investment stops, the economy tanks even further, and people lose even more jobs.

I’m here to tell you, these investors are nervous about the current economic and political environment.

Businessmen from both parties agree, this Congress and John Yarmuth must go!
