Excerpts from Announcement Speech

I’m Larry Hausman and I am a concerned citizen, who CANNOT sit idly by and watch the politicians in Washington lead America into decline. It is because I love our entrepreneurial America and my lifelong home of Louisville that I feel called to serve.

The far left has declared war on Capitalism and on our freedoms, while they have taken too lightly the real war that terrorists have waged on us. Well I want you to know that I reject the progressive agenda which seeks to tax us to death (and after death), re-distribute our hard earned money, and make us all dependent upon BIG government. Our current Congressman, John Yarmuth, votes in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the far left, not his Louisville constituents. In terms of what he has done for the economy and jobs, the Club for Growth ranked him 435th -that’s dead last in Congress.
I would like to offer some simple solutions to restore sanity to Washington.

The National Debt and Deficit Spending

We can’t continue to spend far more than we take in! The dollars being spent by our government are difficult to understand so let me put them in perspective. If you cross off the last 8 zeros of our national budget it would be like making $22,000 a year and spending $36,000. How long would your family be able to keep that kind of spending up? But that’s not the worst of it, because Congress spent instead of investing Medicare and Social Security tax dollars add $1,000,000 dollars in credit card debt to that same scenario. We can’t afford to continue down this path! The first step is for Washington to admit they have a problem – that the nation’s debt has become unmanageable.

Job Creation

How about this simple idea for creating jobs: give employers tax breaks for hiring more employees. The best way the government can help create real jobs is through tax incentives. I propose a double tax deduction for new hires for 1 year. Also, I think we should we lower corporate taxes, which are among the highest in the world. Corporations just pass higher taxes onto you, the consumer, and in the process make our goods too expensive to export.

Healthcare

With respect to Healthcare we should use free market solutions instead of relying on the government. Let’s make healthcare and health insurance fully tax deductible. Let’s give individuals their choice to carry their own plans that transfer from job to job. Let’s make sure citizens are able to purchase insurance across state lines, ensuring greater competition and lower prices. Let’s encourage citizens to start asking how much their doctor’s visits and procedures cost. If the free market was allowed into healthcare we would have competition between doctors and hospitals for price and quality of service. Lastly, Congress should enact real tort reform so doctors won’t have to practice defensive medicine.

National Defense and Security

Let’s stop undermining our National Defense! Navy Seals are being prosecuted. CIA agents are walking on eggshells fearing repercussions. We’re treating terrorists like Americans and Patriotic Americans like terrorists! I agree with Senator Scott Brown: “Our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop terrorists, not lawyers to defend them”.

Energy Policy

I think we should stop buying oil from people who hate us and seek to destroy us.
We have all the oil we need off the coast of Florida, all the natural gas we need in shale deposits and all the bio diesel fuel our military and trucking industry need in clean coal.
Energy independence is a national security issue. To win a war we must have fuel
We also must have a strong, fully funded military and empowered intelligence services.

Summary

These are just a few of my ideas. This race is likely to be a dog fight. It is going to take a lot of money, volunteers and prayer. Are you willing to fight for your freedoms that are being eroded? Together we can take back the 3rd district and do our part to take back our country. If you are looking for a professional politician, then I am not your guy.
But if you want someone who understands finance and economics, someone who has simple clear plans to cut taxes & create jobs, and someone who is willing to uphold our constitution, then I would humbly ask you to let me represent you.
